Renewing Your Mind

April 20, 2023

 In a dream I heard the Lord say:

“I am healing thoughts, mindsets, reactions, and behaviors.”

He then led me to 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5;

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power

to destroy strongholds.

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”

With Romans 12:2 He continued to illustrate His message;

“Do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,

that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,

what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Through these scriptures, the Lord began to highlight the powerful potential of our thoughts. They are the seeds that form our mindsets (our strongholds); mindsets generate our reactions, and our reactions birth behaviors that we integrate into our daily lives. The Lord confirmed that unrenewed minds can result in behaviors that are entirely out of alignment with His identity and calling for our lives.

When a weed grows in a garden, we must remove it by the root so that  it does not affect the growth of the healthy plants. In the same way, the Lord desires to uproot unaligned behaviors. He teaches us to “take every thought captive” before it can become a stronghold and He transforms us “by the renewal of our mind.”

This message is the Lord’s invitation to healing for the Church specifically in areas that have gone undetected or have been overlooked. It is time to uproot OUR undetected and overlooked thoughts, mindsets, reactions and behaviors towards OTHERS.

The Lord has emphasized keys in accepting His invitation.

  • First, the Holy Spirit must be the One to guide us for the purposes of healthy confrontation and healing within ourselves.
  • Second, we must be aware and willing to surrender these four areas of our daily lives (thoughts, mindsets, reactions, and behaviors) in order to identify the root and begin to extract it.
  • Last, we need to be vigilant to ensure we do not misinterpret the thoughts, mindsets, reactions, and behaviors of OTHERS, especially close loved ones, while God is working on us.

Full freedom, renewed thoughts and Kingdom purpose await us on the other side of His invitation!
